Grace modeste- an "unassuming grace." Any discussion of a spiritual nature should reflect this mutual kindness. The following are simply my devotional reflections each morning. I cast them like "bread upon the waters," hoping that all who find them will find something of value to nurture their own inner life.

I suppose learning to be silent is as much an art in prayer as it is in any other conversation.

Conversations I have within are just as real as the ones I have without; maybe more so.
We may, at times, want God to speak to our ears but it is no surprise that He usually speaks to our heart. And, why not? We are after all, more than crude flesh; we are the spirit that inhabits it. We must fine tune our sensitivities to the world of spirit if we are to commune with God. He will meet us in the physical world, but every touch, taste, sight, sound and smell invites us to listen to His voice in our heart. Even when He speaks to our ears He wants to speak to our heart. Conversations Within” ts 6/17/2014

When I think about it, just about every unhappy moment in my life is when I am thinking about what “I” want; what “I” deserve; what is keeping “me” from having it.
“Do nothing from selfish ambition.” Phil.2
I believe that people were created to be happy but we have corrupted happiness into a pursuit when God designed it to be the state that inhabits abounding love. When the energy of our life flows out in service to others, our hearts knows happiness. When the energy of our life draws selfishly inward, happiness is always just out of reach. We were designed to shine like stars not selfishly take like black holes. Conversations Within” ts 6/9/2014
