Just me trying to be honest with God.

“He who envies others does not obtain peace of mind.” Buddha

There is no peace in an envious and jealous heart. The cure for envy is to love. Love seeks the blessing of others, not just oneself. Love will help us find ways to include, not exclude, to not possess but to promote sharing.

“Love does not seek its own.” 1Cor.13 Conversations Within” ts 4/21/2022

“Not doing what you like, but liking what you do is the secret of happiness.” J. M. Barrie

I would rather be content and watch its quiet joy flow over into whatever I do, than to just do stuff that makes me happy. Live life from within and create happiness, rather than looking for happiness outside you.

“Eat your bread with joy.” Ecc.9.7 Conversations Within” ts 4/20/2022

“As iron is eaten by rust, so are the envious consumed by envy.” Antisthenes

It is hard for me to confess that I am sometimes envious of attention, especially from my wife. I can be possessive, and would rather I spend the day with her rather than her spend the day with her daughters. Such possessiveness is unhealthy not only for me but for her. The energy of love flows out, never possessively in.

“Love is not jealous.” 1Cor.13 Conversations Within” ts 4/21/2022

One important reason why the sun rose this morning.

Understanding that God made this day, appointed today, and made provision for it, means that we can count on Him to bless our efforts to live this day in the discovery of all He desires to be for us in it. Let the adventure begin!

“This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Ps.118.24 Conversations Within” ts 4/19/2022

“Rise and Shine!”

If we are dragging ourselves out of bed rather than rising up ready to greet the day, it may be that we need to make preparations for a better night’s sleep. Sleep is just as important as eating right and exercising where health is concerned. What changes can you make tonight to insure that your rest and refreshment will enable you to rise and shine tomorrow?

“When you lie down, you will not be afraid, when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.” (Proverbs 3:24) Conversations Within” ts 4/18/2022
