“Why, then, did God give them free will? Because free will, though it makes evil possible, is also the only thing that makes possible any love or goodness or joy worth having.”

 How can we say that God is good in the face of so much that is bad about our world. What gives? Well, God gives freedom of choice to humans and with it the consequences of loving Him or not. Love can only exist in freedom. Everything bad in our world comes from the abuse of this freedom.
