Just me trying to be honest with God.

“Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.” AndrĂ© Gide

“I applied my mind to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under the heavens.” Ecc.1

We speak about getting out of your comfort zone if you want to experience real growth. We get out of our comfort zone not to be uncomfortable but to expand our zone of comfort. I started surfing at fifty-five, not to be uncomfortable but to become good at something I am beginning to love. The real value of all of this is that we get out of our comfort zone to become comfortable learning new things. Get comfortable with it.  Conversations Within” ts 7/29/2013 (Atlantic Beach, FL)

Know when to say no.

“You shall not...'” God

The world would be different place if our first parents had just said no when they were supposed to. How my world would be different if I would do the same. We must learn to speak wisdom to ourselves instead of listening to the inner voices that lead us wrong. Wisdom’s reply to these lying voices can sound something like this: “Nope, I am not going there. I have been down this road a hundred times and there is no joy to be found at the end of it.” When you say no, mean it.  Conversations Within” ts 7/27/2013 (Hayneville, AL)

“The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another.” William James

“We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2Cor.10

To capture your thoughts is as simple as redirecting them. Trying not to think about something is a mistake. Everyone knows that trying to not think about something is to think about it. It is like trying to take a towel from a dog. If you want the dog to drop the towel just drop the other end and do something else. The dog will tire of toying with it. When you are thinking about something you shouldn’t, don’t keep thinking about it; think about something else.  Conversations Within” ts 7/25/2013 (Camp Farrington, AL)
