The Scriptures often make simple observations on the human experience and this is certainly one of them. People tend to think this way. “If I only had more money, then...” I often ask people what they would do with their life if money was not an issue. What is the measure of true wealth but knowing the value of everything you possess that cannot be bought or sold. It is said that the “best things in life are free.” Your mother’s cooking, the smile of a friend, another sunrise, an encouraging word are gifts with no monetary value but have value none the less.
