Just me trying to be honest with God.

“Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today.” Mother Teresa

“Do not worry about tomorrow, tomorrow has enough worries of its own.” Jesus

I believe that most of our worries would instantly disappear if we would but attend fully to the present moment. Just about everything we worry about concerns the future in one way or another. Stay focused on the present. My wife is fond of saying, ‘It is what it is; deal with it.’ If you can’t deal with it right now, give it to God and forget it. It is important to realize that there isn’t one completely good person to be found among humans. Equally important is to remember that I am human.

“There is none good, no not one.” Rom.3

Why all this negative talk about human failure?  Isn’t it better to believe that people are basically good? Jesus of course said that where goodness is concerned only God qualifies. This pretty much means that any goodness in us is the result of grace. Goodness in people is evidence of His work in them. Conversations Within” ts 6/29/2013 (Camp Farrington, AL)

Grace is unmerited, not unconditional.

“The Lord is gracious.” Ps.145

God does not necessarily love us because we are lovely. He loves us because He is love. He gives grace because He is gracious not because we deserve it. But to say that grace is undeserved does not mean that it comes to us without conditions. If fact, it is because God loves us that there are conditions demanded by His love. He is not saying, “I will love you if you clean up your act.” He is saying, “My love for you demands that I accept nothing but the best for you. By the way, you need a bath. Let me wash you” Conversations Within” ts 6/28/2013 (Camp Farrington, AL)
