Just me trying to be honest with God.

“Our society has made becoming offended a national pastime.” J.M. Farrow

"A man's wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense." Proverbs 19:11 NIV

I wonder how easy it is for me to be offended? I believe it is wise to develop tough skin where personal injury is concerned. Having said that I think it is equally wise to keep a tender heart. Let me exercise compassion toward those who rant against my opinions and beliefs. Let me also learn to hold my tongue when they express they express theirs, unless what I say can bridge the gap not deepen the divide.  Conversations Within” ts 12/26/2013 (On the road, GA-AL)

Many years ago I resolved never to bother with New Year's resolutions, and I've stuck with it ever since. ~ Dave Beard

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.” John 14

People are pretty consistent about being inconsistent. I long for a different genre of consistency. It will be wonderful when I no longer live with a divided self--what I really want will no longer conflict with lesser wants. This is the healing offered to us in the gospel of Christ. Our divided soul is promised peace.  Conversations Within” ts 12/26/2013 (Winder, GA)

“The line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?” ― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

“Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Rom.12

We all have heard the adage which advises ”fight fire with fire.” I am sure this has application where evil is concerned. Not that we fight evil with evil, but we seek to halt its progress in the best possible way and the best way sometimes may be the only way. Sometimes the only way to save a life is to cut off an arm. Cutting off an arm may look evil but it is not. Love sometimes has to make hard choices but it is still love because it not only seeks what is best but seeks it in the best way even if it is the only way.
