”In the matter of boots, I defer to the authority of the boot-maker.” Mikhail Bakunin

“Not my will but your be done.” Jesus

People pray for all kinds of reasons, one, of course, is simply that our prayers will be answered. But when we think about it, we would not want God to answer us like some genie in a bottle, rather we would prefer that He only give us what we ask for only if what we ask is truly good. Isn’t this pretty much another way of saying, “not my will but thy will be done?” The wisdom in this attitude would have us defer to the wisdom of God when He answers our request.   Conversations Within” ts 8/29/2014
