Our emotions, desires, and even our pride can compete with what we know is good, right and true. We should not allow what we know is right to take a back seat to any of these things. Don’t yield the driver’s seat to something as fickle as feelings or temporal desires. When you practice self-control make sure which part of yourself is in control. Do not be held captive by what is less than what is best.
“Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control.” Prov.25.28 Conversations Within” ts 1/17/2019
