“Onesimus...who formerly was useless to you, but now is useful both to you and to me.” Philemon 1
There was once a slave named Onesimus who name means “useful.” He did not live up to his name and as a slave may have even resented it. He ran away from his master only to return after finding Christ. Both men were changed by the life of Jesus in them. The master received him as a brother and Onesimus found the joy of being a willing servant to his friend. The power of Christian love can transform the ugly into the beautiful.
