A deliberate, purposeful response is better than a knee-jerk reaction. When we chose to live our lives on the principles of goodness-of faith, hope and love, then most of our decisions are already made. A mature inner life gives direction to our thoughts, words and actions. It is one thing to keep in step with the Spirit of God living within us, and another to follow the cadence of selfish passions.
