“Did you take your medicine today?”

At first glance it might appear that saying thank you is only a gift we return to others for some benefit they have given to us. The simple truth is that we do ourselves a good turn as well when we make gratitude a regular part of our interactions with others. There are a number of medical studies that conclude that happy and grateful people live longer and experience better health than those who are unhappy and ungrateful.
