Human struggle with faith is not with logic or with reason, but with lust. We believe that eating right gives us health, but we still choose to eat wrong. It is not that we doubt what we know; we desire stuff that is bad for us. It is not doubt, but desire, that trips us up. One reason we make bad choices is that we believe that we have time to recover from them. I can always repent tomorrow. Of course, tomorrow is not promised; nor is the next minute, for that matter.
