There is a story about a farmer who was confronted by a neighbor about working his kids in the cornfield when all the other kids were playing in the creek. The farmer replied, “Friend, I’m not growing corn, I’m raising boys.” As a parent, God is not always interested in making our life comfortable, but making it conducive to our growth and maturity.
