If there was ever a time not to be happy I should think it would be anytime God is giving you a good spanking. We are told to be thankful that He loves us enough to discipline us, but it is silly to think He expects us to enjoy it. Pain, sorrow, trial and hardship do not necessarily come to us because we need correction, but everybody needs character. Endure pain, even give thanks for it but God does not expect you to enjoy it.
