“The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist.” Will Smith (After Earth-the movie)

“...perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment.” 1Jo.4

I am struck by the fact that most fear involves the future in some way--what may or may never happen. I might loose my job, or die of cancer or be killed by a tornado. This means that we can in the very least deal with some of our fears by being where we are or by “rooting our self in this present moment” (a phrase from the movie mentioned above).  By attending to the present we can soberly think about a potential threat and find a proper not a panicked response to it. God usually will have a beneficial word or two about it.   Conversations Within” ts 5/20/2014
