If the Christian worldview is correct, we belong to God twice over. We owe Him our lives first because He made us, and second because He bought us with the very life of His Son. And, while this is true, God does not want slaves but sons and daughters. We can look at all of this as debt we owe Him or a gift He has freely given to us.
