It is generally considered wise to listen to different points of view. Not every disagreement competes with our understanding, it may complement it in ways we have not yet seen. Be open to dissenting counsel, even aggressively seek it. Surround yourself with friends who do not always agree with you, and who will tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.
