Common sense is usually praised by the community that has nurtured it. But what if the community has nurtured a wrong set of values and its common sense is nonsense? Segregated bathrooms was the “common sense” of the South in the fifties and sixties. We need to take care, even in the community of faith, that our ‘common sense” is a reflection of the wisdom from above and not from the prejudices we get from below.
