When we ask God to grant something we are asking that He do more than just allow it to happen--we ask His blessings on it. By asking God to grant something instead of asking Him to do it for us, we also understand that we too have a role to play. It is silly to ask God to do something for us if He has delegated it to us. It is equally silly if we do not ask for His help when He not only offers it, but assures us that by having it, an ordinary something can be transformed into something extraordinary.
