There are two equal but opposite errors where good works are concerned. The first occurs when we trust them to gain God’s acceptance. The second is to dismiss their importance after we have accepted grace. God does not accept us because of our personal merit but because of grace. Once accepted, He fully intends to reshape us into expressions of abounding goodness. Good works are not the cause of salvation but they are certainly the result of it.
