Life's little disappointments can add up to one huge disappointment and rob us of the joy of living if we are not wise in our response to them. There are proper expectations such as faithfulness in marriage or pay from an employer, but our expectations, especially of people, should not form the basis of our joy and happiness. We should never say, “I will be happy if…” but rather “I am happy because….” I am happy because God is the strength of my life. God is the only source of lasting joy.
