Although the Bible records that “time and chance happen to us all,” I give very little credit to luck. Not getting what we want may be God’s way of looking out for our best interest. God certainly tweeks our longings. He is alway seeking to mature what we want now with what we really want. If we have any expectations of God, we should certainly understand that like any good parent, He is willing to withhold granting us desires which are not healthy in order to lead us to desires which are.
