The wholehearted devotion that God asks of us is a whole life dedicated to the cause of loving others. Jesus assures us that such is a life well spent. And spent it is. It is a life “poured out” in service to others. To give to others wholehearted is not just to give things but to give one’s self. It is an attitude that doesn’t hold back. We become ready and to spring into action when it is required of us. In such an attitude there are no half measures--the whole seed is sown in the ground, only then is it multiplied.
