Prudence enables us to see matters through. Forethought can accurately forecast what we start today and the likelihood of whether we will finish it tomorrow. It is silly to start something we cannot finish. Prudence and forethought that can reveal if we have what it takes to finish what we start. Jesus called this counting the cost. This two-edged sword can show us not only what it will take to finish but also the cost of not starting what needs to be done.
