“God wants spiritual fruit not religious nuts.” Meme
The trappings of religion should not be confused with the spiritual fruit God desires from us any more than wearing a wedding band should be confused with a healthy marriage. Relationship not religious ritual is the substance of spiritual health. Wearing a cross around one’s neck is not the same thing as taking up our cross and following Christ into service to the world.
