Christ is a liberator. He comes to set our hearts free from the bondage of our own divided self, and give it back to us as its master. This freedom is found on the path of humility. We must first and humbly admit our bondage before He can give us this freedom. Someone has said that “God cannot pour his riches into hands already full.” The proud are so full of themselves they can never receive liberating grace.
