Our generation admires people who are authentic. But just because something is “real” does not mean it is good. We often confuse being authentic with ignoring what other people think, even to the point of being rude. Our “tell ‘em how you feel” attitude may convey a kind of sincerity but doing so may simply mean we are just being sincerely rude. If you want to be real, be real at something good.
