Consider the contrast in the simple verse, “But you belong to God.” Such an understanding should affect every single thing in our life. I may want to be selfish, but I belong to God. I may not feel like being polite, but I belong to God. The world is a dangerous place, but I belong to God. The tumor is cancerous, but I belong to God. To understand that we belong to God is one of the most important truths that we should tell ourselves every day.
