“Love one another.” JesusI should think that most people know the difference between loving and being in love. Being in love is a feeling, a longing, an infatuation with someone. Being in love is what you get from the other person. Conversely, love is an action that seeks to benefit the one you love. Love is what you give to that person. This inevitably means that you learn to love someone even on days when you don’t like them. Romantic love as a feeling is good; not just some physical chemistry, but the magic that comes when two people are mutually committed to the other’s highest good.
