There is nothing quite as precious as a personal word from God. It may be a word of comfort in a sad time or a word of encouragement when we are down. His word may come to us when we need guidance, or wisdom when we are facing an important decision. I even appreciate a stinging rebuke because it assures me that He loves and cares about the kind of person I am becoming. How sweet it is when the Spirit speaks to the heart.
