Give yourself enough pause to think it through. This is wise not only with making important decisions but also when we are just making conversation. Be deliberate in speech, deliberately truthful, deliberately kind. I sometimes wonder if I need to put duct tape on my mouth so I have to pause and remove it before I speak.
