We are a people drawn to power, so it is no wonder that the miraculous catches our attention. But the miracle of Christmas isn’t so much a demonstration of God’s power as it is an expression of His grace and truth. Jesus once asked which was the greater challenge, for God to heal lame legs or forgive sins. The incarnation is a wondrous miracle but it is made wondrous because of the reason Christ became a man not because God is powerful enough to turn Himself into one.
