Jesus told us to pray for daily bread because it is the only kind of bread He offers.
“Give us this day our daily bread.” Mt.6.11 ESV
By telling us to pray for daily bread, Jesus is helping us wake to a simple life lesson. Be where you are, live in the present moment and trust God for it. Worrying about tomorrow is to worry about something that may not happen. Life comes to us a moment at a time and God promises to provide for it. To ask is to partake of His provision. It is no use asking God for tomorrow’s bread; God will not give us anything that will lead us away from another opportunity to trust Him. 12/16/2009 Conversations Within ts
