You cannot sharpen a knife blade with butter, and a person who tells you only what you want to hear will not sharpen you. A true friend is not someone who will coddle your weaknesses but hone them away with a rebuke if necessary. Seek out the kind of friends who will love and accept you as you are, but who will also love you enough not to leave you that way.
