An argument does not have to be destructive because we can deliberately choose to make it constructive. Why tear down when you can build up? When our friend or spouse disagrees with us, we can wisely listen to a point of view that may enhance our understanding and help us see things we may not have noticed. Seeing a new point of view can complement our own. It does not have to compete with it.
