“Have it your way!” This slogan might sell hamburgers but we should hope that God never says these words to us, at least not in the sense that He is abandoning us to our own devises. When Jesus told us to ask for God to “deliver us” from temptation, the word may be translated, “drag us.” In other words, in sober moments when we are thinking clearly, we pray, “Lord I may want to give in to my sinful desires but I am asking you to not let me; to drag me away if You have to.” 5/28/2009 Conversations Within ts
