“The one who comes to God must believe that He is and that “He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Heb.11
We may well ask why God desires that people seek Him. The answer of course, is kin to why we must suck on a straw to drink a milk shake. It is in the very act of seeking that we find. We can properly translate the words of Jesus to say, “Everyone who “is” seeking “is” finding.” This does not mean that God cannot or does not reveal Himself to people without their asking. Indeed, we are told that people seek God because He is drawing them to do so--something like thirst draws us to drink. To taste and see that God is good, we must suck on the straw of faith.
