Resist the temptation to explain all the ways it cannot be done, and find the one way it can. Nurture an “I can” attitude. This is not to encourage us to plow foolishly forward. It is wise to realize our limitations, but our limitations can actually help us find a better and safer way to accomplish something, not not accomplish it. A disability can highlight a new ability. Consider all the people who have lost an arm or leg who play sports and run marathons. Stop making excuses and start making a way.
