I am grateful for the many ways that Father shows compassion in our world. I think we misunderstand some of the ways He expresses it. We shrink from death, but actually putting a time limit on our stay here is a great kindness. Weaning us off the temporal, and fixing our focus on the eternal is certainly an act of great compassion. If Jesus has taught us anything, it is that He is personally involved in any suffering He has deemed necessary for our transformation into creatures of light.
