Many things come to mind when people think of the word “church.” I suppose some of them are good, some bad. The root of the word refers simply to an assembly or gathering. When people come together it is usually for some purpose. When Christ employed the word, He said it was any gathering of two or more people who come together in His name--which is one way of saying for His cause. His cause, of course, is to love--to love God, to love our neighbor, even our enemies. His Church is anytime people join hands to love and use their energies to benefit others.
