Should we ever factor in the possibility of quitting? I think it depends on what we are talking about. If we are talking about some project, sure--why not if it no longer brings you or others joy? If we are talking about something like marriage, Jesus tells us that the only time quitting is an option is if our partner quits on us by breaking their vows. I think there are times when it is wise to plan when we will “throw in the towel” but I am certain that relationships rarely qualify.
