The best way to know someone is simply to spend time with them. Why would it be any different with God? If I want to know Him better, let me talk with Him. And, let me talk “with” God not just “to” Him, for true prayer is a dialogue not a monologue. Most people I know tell me that they talk to God everyday but then confess that they rarely read the Bible or take time to really listen for God to speak to them. Of course, we get so caught up in our own little world that we hardly listen to anyone. Instead of thinking what I want to say next, maybe I should just learn to listen.
