The first commandment to love God is often perceived as our duty, but as we give ourselves to it, it becomes our delight. Once we understand that God is inviting us to enjoy Him in every interaction, then every other command, even negative ones, become a means to do so. The Spirit imparts His wisdom to us when He tells us not to do something. He isn’t laying a religious burden on us, but showing us the path of joy.
