“Into your hand I commit my spirit…” Ps.31.5 ESV
Here is one of the seven saying of Christ on the cross. It is so appropriate that His last words are a quotation from God’s word. Jesus is called the eternal Word, He came to fulfill the word, told us to live by God’s every word, He died with the word on His lips and His last words to us after the resurrection, commissioned us to spread the word. God has spoken and Jesus is what He said.
“In the beginning was the word and the word was with God, and the word was God… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
