Brenda once commented that we were becoming far too serious and did not laugh together near enough. We both started making a concerted effort to laugh at least once a day. We learned quickly that laughing and acquiring a sense of humor were two different things. We had some rather forced moments where our laughter lacked the quality of any real delight. We laugh now more than ever but not so much from trying as from an easier disposition, something we are learning. Love, joy, peace, all the qualities of a Spirit filled life are learned. And, while I do not think that having joy and possessing a sense of humor is the same thing, I should think that both come from hanging out with a deliriously happy God. 3/16/2009 Conversations Within ts
