I may not be able to perform a totally selfless act but I can choose to avoid a totally selfish one. Living only for our own happiness is ultimately a sure road to unhappiness. Each of us look to our own interest, but the road to real and lasting joy is to care also for the well-being of others. The best thing for me is to care for more than me.
