Our thoughts tell us so much about who we really are. We play out various scenarios in our mind--things that we would like to express outwardly but never do because people are watching. I suppose personal shame is a kind of grace. The real shame is that we are more ashamed that we are such a horrible person for thinking such things than we are that we have saddened God.
