Wisdom teaches us to weed. It shows us how to cultivate the garden of our life by clearing it of everything but the lasting fruit of faith and love. Whatever does not grow out of these is cull. Whatever springs from them will profit us not only in this life but the one to come. So, how does putting on makeup or shaving or cutting grass or washing dishes reflect faith and love? Nothing or everything I suppose; it depends on our approach to life. Even mundane matters can be expressions of faith and love and when they are they are certainly transformed by them into activities of enjoyment and meaning. 8/31/11 Conversations Within ts (Jacksonville, FL)
