“I will thank you forever, because you have done it.” Ps.52.9 ESV
It is a test of our patience and faith to sit in the waiting room of the Lord. Young David was promised the throne of Israel but God made him wait for it and not without trial. But rather than take matters into his own hands, especially when doing so would speed up the process but would also compromise principle, the future king declared to his heart, “I will wait for your name, for it is good.” David speaks to himself, as we often must do if we would stay our heart, and hold fast to God’s promises. How it strengthens faith to see the Lord bring His word to pass. And, when it finally comes, this future hope He has promised and, for which we have long waited, we will be able to declare, “I will give thanks, because You, not I, have done it.” 4/24/2009 Conversations Within ts
